I found that the best places for aging IT pros are, with no surprise:

I see a lot of old, happy faces there. They always told me how relax they are and they won’t worry about lay-off in bad economy. That sounds great.

    Very good advice. I am at age 48 and working as an IT consultant. I already felt I couldn’t keep up with the fast pace of IT, and young kids in my firm are beating up. You are right, I need to get a government job in in this age. I am looking for position with State of Ohio.
